The City of Fort Payne is located in DeKalb County in northeast Alabama between Sand Mountain and Lookout Mountain. With an average temperature of 70 degrees, Fort Payne is the “Coolest Place in Alabama” and offers a variety of year-round outdoor activities – including the Little River Canyon National Preserve.
