Welcome to the city of Clayton

Located in the southeast part of the state, Clayton has been the county seat of Barbour County since 1834. The city was incorporated by act of the Alabama Legislature on December 21, 1841. Clayton is home to the Grace Episcopal Church, built in 1876, and the Miller-Martin Townhouse, built in 1859.
