Under age drinking is ILLEGAL and law enforcement is cracking down in Alabama.

Each year, about 5,000 people under the age of 21 die as a result of underage drinking. The Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board has launched a statewide campaign to educate high school students, college students, and parents about the dangers of underage drinking. How can I order a product that is not carried in ABC Stores?

All products can be ordered as a “special order” at any of our store locations in the state. All special orders must be ordered by the case. Store personnel will take the order and forward it on to the purchasing department. The merchandise will then be ordered from the supplier. Upon arrival, the product will be shipped to the store. The store will notify the customer that their order is in and ready for pickup.

How do I apply for a license?

Contact the division office that works the county where the establishment is (will be) located and they should be able to provide all necessary instructions. A list of division offices can be found here.

How do I obtain employment with the ABC Board?

The State of Alabama Personnel Department manages the recruitment and testing process for all merit system jobs used by the ABC Board. To be considered for employment, you must first submit an application for a classification used by the ABC Board (e.g., ABC Sales Associate, ABC Enforcement Agent) to the State Personnel Department. The most effective method is to visit the State Personnel Department website, and create a job profile under the “My Profile” section. Once you have filled in all of the required information and created a user account, you will be sent an e-mail. Click on the link in the e-mail to activate your account and sign in. Finish creating your profile and then apply for the job(s) in which you are interested. The State Personnel Department will administer an exam and place you on a hiring register to be used by employing agencies. When the ABC Board has a need to hire someone for a position, the State Personnel Department will provide a list of eligible candidates that is made up of the top ten (10) names on the hiring register, plus ties. If you score in the top ten (10), your name will appear on the list of eligible candidates and you can be considered for employment. Any score outside the top ten (10) cannot be considered for employment.
