Fayette County is located in northwest Alabama at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Fayette County is home to nearly 17,000 residents and some of the state’s top-ranked schools. Large portions of the Sipsey River flow through the county, which creates several outdoor recreational opportunities. The county is also home to the Fayette Art Museum, which features folk art by local artists.
