The town of Ashford is located in Houston County in the southeast corner of Alabama, 12 miles northwest of the Georgia state line. With a strong history of naval stores production and cotton agriculture, Ashford has over 2,100 residents as part of the Dothan metropolitan area. The town is home to the Alabama Midland Railroad Depot and Museum and the Bicentennial Memorial Park. Additionally, the town hosts an annual Harvest Day Festival in September.
