The town of Lowndesboro is located in Lowndes County in south-central Alabama, approximately 15 miles west of Montgomery. With just over 100 residents, Lowndesboro is home to impressive antebellum structures, many of which have been recently restored and are showcased during the annual Lowndesboro Heritage Celebration. The town is situated in Alabama’s Black Belt region with close proximity to the Alabama River.
