town of Red Level

Welcome to the town of Red Level

The town of Red Level is located in northwestern Covington County in the extreme south-central part of Alabama. The name of the town comes from a store that once existed in the area named Read’s Level and predates the town by a few years. James Read, the owner of the store, always pronounced his name with a silent “a,” which prompted a misspelling of the name. It is home to more than 400 people.
